Can you believe it?

Today is the first day of October – and this officially commences the nation-wide acceptance to embrace the holiday season. Whether your workplace has already set up decorations, you’re currently in the process, or have yet to begin, Halloween decor can be a fun-yet appropriate- contribution to the office. There is a line however, separating entertaining from flat out disrespectful, so always err on the side of caution when it comes to a professional environment! Here are a few of our favorite office approved decor to get you excited about the holiday season…

1. Pumpkins

One of the most significant icons indicating the fall season and Halloween, pumpkins can be incorporated to create a warm and lively vibe in most professional establishments. Similar to plants, they create healthy work environments by bringing nature indoors, yet require no upkeep or maintenance. Here at MCDA CCG, we like to find hollowed-out pumpkins and further incorporate additional accents such as lights and succulents. To add to this holiday spirit and encourage team building, consider organizing a pumpkin carving contest to showcase different personalities!

2. Bats

Another Halloween favorite, bats always allude to a spooky presence, and are therefore perfect to include in this list. Many are easy to use and come with adhesive strips, allowing you to form them in different angles. Opt for 3-D wall decal stickers and place them throughout your office, in windows, doors, glass, or any other smooth surface.

3. Balloons

Balloons almost always equate to a party, and people are always in the mood to celebrate. Consider heading to your nearest party favor store to find out if they are selling Halloween-themed accessory bundles in orange and/or black. You will find that many people want to avoid a potential popping noise, Always check before hanging them up around your office, cubicle, or breakroom!

4. Banners

Another decoration that requires minimal effort, Halloween banners can be hung on a wall, window, door, stairs, hallway, ceiling, or bulletin board. They create a fun and festive atmosphere for your co-workers and are super simple to take down when it’s time.

5. Spooky Lighting

It wouldn’t be much of Halloween decor without at least one old cob-web coated lantern. Hang an old lantern in your workplace to add a subtle, yet festive touch to it. You can find numerous DIY ideas online involving recycling canning jars into these lanterns.

6. Spider Webs

Another ominous staple, spider webs are a must to include in your Halloween decor. You can find numerous spider web variations at any Halloween store, party store, or in the seasonal sections of department stores. Find ones that stretch easily and are easy to clean up. Simply hang fake spider webs along partitions, reception areas, ceilings, and/or walls; and follow by adding pretend spiders.

7. Inflatables

A fun holiday decoration requiring minimal to no set up, you can find blow up forms of witches, ghosts, black cats, pumpkins, all in a wide variety of sizes. You can set up a small one in your workstation -on your desk or in your cubicle, or a bigger form in the reception area if allowed.

8. Skeletons and Skulls

Gather all of the plastic bones you can find and strategically position them around your workstation. Place a full-body skeleton just beside your entrance or in a visitor’s chair to add to the effect. Skeletons and skulls also make as props for taking fun social media photos
